A Beautiful Day

Saturday is the best day to have company because you can relax on Sunday before the work day comes... YIKES. It worked out well because I got the chance to really relax today. I got the best sleep last night I’ve had in awhile. No ear plugs, no sleep mask. I was out like a light! And I didn't wake up until 9:15!! Record!!

Here’s our junkfood Friday night:

I got this Newman’s Own Margherita pizza at the local grocer about a week ago and decided it’d make a great Friday night meal with some Tyson BBQ chicken wings. They were so good. A good junk food evening by all means. The pizza was all natural and the wings… don’t ask! ;) haha.

I usually eat what I want on weekends as long as I don’t over do it. “Over do it” meaning when you’re laying in a food coma saying “why the hell did I eat that?” I eat enough but just eat less and more “pleasing” meals, instead of the usual 5-6 large “snacks” (I hate when they say meals, they’re not as large as meals), I just eat less if there’s more fat involved. It makes you appreciate it more when you get to Monday and you’re back to the healthy snacks.

Maia update:

This was the ride home from the animal hospital to NH-

Click to view the pics individually. I almost died. She was so helpless and she brought out the infamous “tongue”. Who does that?! Haha. It was sticking out like the whole ride. So cute. And as soon as I knew we were going to meet my mom at B’s training facility, I knew this little blue basket would come in handy. If you remember from my post on the baskets that I found at an estate sale, you’ll remember this baby. I put in a fleece blankey and she fit like a glove. She curled up inside and kept trying to jump out then she remembered she had stitches on her belly :( She’s holding down the meds and my mom (aka her grandma) is taking great care of her. Thank God she works at a school and has summers off. I’m so grateful for that.

Today: M and I woke up wondering what the day would hold for us. We both broke out our laptops and handles emails then closed them and figured since it was nice out and we’d both have a CRAZY week, might as well go to the beach :) I started off with this green baby

… it had a bit of green bubbly stuff going on (glistening from the ice) but overall was refreshing. I used a fresh banana instead of a frozen one and substituted the “frozen-ness” (if that’s a word) with two ice cubes. M had Kashi cereal with chocolate Soy milk… um… no comment! Haha. So we headed off to Revere Beach… again! It’s great now. Like I mentioned before, there was no parking, no sidewalks, smelly water, etc. Now it’s cleaner, new, brand we tried a new restaurant there called Renzo (Brickoven Pizzeria). We got a table by the sliding door/window.

We had a Bianca pizza but started with fried calamari. The Bianca pizza was mozzarella cheese, spinach, and ricotta cheese. Now It was light, small, thin, but it was a bit bland and I shook a few sprinkles of salt on it and asked for some marinara sauce for dipping. Just me. I need flavor. We all know that by now right? Haha. But I washed it down with an Amstel Light, so I was happy by the time we left :D

We went and layed our on the beach to read a bit (M "Fiet's vase" - a war book... Me, "Julia & Julia") and I caught some HUGE airplanes landing at Logan.

042 Yeah I definitely need a camera. They were so close you could literally reach out and touch them, but this cam makes them seem so far away :( Time to UPGRADE! Any suggestions friends???

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I’ll be around this week if they don’t work me to hard at the “employer”. B’s here until Tuesday when he goes to Vegas then Cali. Lucky ass! So I’ll have company while M’s in NY for the day tomorrow. I also have to catch up on all your lovely blogs :D

Ciao xx- Q

Fried calamari and pizza in one weekend sounds like a good time to me. I think dogs stick out their tongues like that because they're carsick. I swear I read that somewhere.

So sounds like a great weekend. Enjoy time w/your bro.

I do that with pizzas, buy a base then add my own ingredients, that way you get exactly what you want on it.

I wish I lived near a beach, but then we need the nice weather to go with it (in the UK as if)

my mom just bought those pizzas the other night and i sampled the chicken and garlic -- to die for! the crust is so thin and crispy, just the way i like it!

sounds like you had such a great weekend -- I am very jealous!

i've got to try the chicken one. the thin crust is definitely a plus... AND, there's like no grose oil in it! my personal fave reason!
