Self Reflection

Tomorrow is Hump Day… yay! The weeks just seem to fly by lately. Summer’s almost over. How depressing. There was only a hand full of days where I could actually wear tank tops out. Just sad! I keep filling my Zune with tons of free music, I love it… it helps me work better and the days go by like a flash :)

I enjoyed more Puffins, lots of coffee, and Miami Social via DVR over the weekend. Puffins remind me of when I was little. I was OBSESSED with these, but I think they were called something else.. hmm..

I also got some sunflowers at Whole Foods. They’re huge. My camera captured the detail perfectly. There were 3 for $6. So pretty. When I was little my mom had a garden with huge sunflowers in it. They were taller than me, and I was a tall kid!!

Although I’ve been working so much, I’ve been doing the baths, candles, reading (to take my brain away from work and to another place), catching up on gossip mags (they make me feel all tingly inside, gotta love the smut), and getting back into music that makes me smile. When I listen to music and read a good magazine it gets me back to my old self. The girl who enjoyed a good laugh, a good read, a good hug. If someone I love hugged me now I wouldn’t know how to take it. I’d be all tense! Haha. I get so focused in my work that I bring the tension home with me and that’s no good. Thanks for all of the suggestions. Baths and books are tops!

Having my big little brother around also helped. Since I knew this week would be busy, M and I took him to Machu Picchu for some Peruvian food where we just happen to be “regulars”. They just tell us to pick where we want to sit now it’s totally normal lol. We started with the Choros a la Chalaca (I hope to be making this soon with the recipe I posted to
Foodbuzz.

We had Fried Yucca with it as usual which sometimes is a must because the lime juice is so strong, it just keeps your tongue SANE. Lol.

B had a steak with pesto spaghetti and fried (yes a strange combo, but what can I say??! It’s Peruvian! :) No pic of that, the kid went to town on it! M had a white fish (same with this man, they were vultures!)

I had the same delightful dish as last time.

Fried fish with sautéed onions, tomato, and cilantro with potato and rice. Yum. I also had a sangria.. well prior to this I did, but it went “bye bye” :)

M’s mom made yellow cake with apple sauce.

For my self-reflection, I turned to my new great book, Bloom.

I Never Let Go of the Big Vision
. This is great in family, friends, work, and ESPECIALLY relationships. After I fill this section in, I’ll share what my passions and wishes are with all of you. I’m thinking of doing a collage instead of just “finding” the images. I love collages. I’m a magazine whore so that shouldn’t be a problem! ;)

Don’t be afraid to try these exercises either. It really gets you in the “me time” mood. Sometimes you get so wrapped up in the needs of others or “other things” that you loose sight of the “big vision”.

On that note, I’ve got important things to discuss with the man. When all else fails and you’re arguing a bit, COMMUNICATION IS KEY! :D I’m not one to comment on my personal life, but you know what, I can make examples, no?! Haha.

Ciao friends- xx Q

We just got done "communicating" lol. I know allll about it. It's important. We have a really strong marriage, and do you know why? We work DAMN HARD. :)

    Have a good humpday girlie.

Glad you got some time to relax. What is fried Yucca? I'm thinking of the Yucca plant but it's not that right?
