It’s Been Too Long!

Ahh, it’s been wayyyy too long my friends! I’ve missed you guys so much :( Work’s been insane, and on top of it I’m trying to go back to school by November 1st. My target date was September 1st, but we’re going to Irvine, CA in about two weeks.

Provincetown was great, and I really didn’t know how many pictures we took until I started uploading them. So, I will post on that this weekend.

I fell off the healthy bandwagon a few weeks ago and it’s shown. It’s amazing how you can feel so great and take a little break and BAM! Just like that you feel like crap. It’s sad sure, but we’ve got to pick ourselves up and keep on moving. I’ve gotten back to my Green Monsters and avocados… I love my avocados :B I did some good shopping early in the week to get things started right.

  • Spinach
  • chicken breasts
  • All Whites
  • Mrs. Butter-worths (I don’t care about the calories or sugar, this is a MUST)
  • sushi (never again, it was disgusting, sushi bar from now on!)
  • deli american cheese
  • deli chopped turkey
  • Red Hill Couscous
  • Coffee-mate Belgian Chocolate creamer (first time trying this one, DELICIOUS)
  • StarKist chunk light tuna (in water)
  • Flax, Oat Bran, and Whole Wheat mini pita breads
  • Dole Mandarin oranges
  • Clif Bars (white chocolate macadamia nut, carrot cake, and cranberry apple crunch)
  • Stonyfield Organic Fat Free Milk
  • Over the Moon chocolate fat free milk

My local grocer, Market Basket, FINALLY started carrying OIKOS. They only have Vanilla, Strawberry, and Blueberry. But… it’s better than nothing!

004 - Copy (14)

My first time trying the Cottonelle Aloe&E toilet paper. Don’t know if I’ve stated this before, but I’m highly sensitive to toilet paper and usually stick to Cottonelle. They never do my wrong ;)

Maia is a huge fan of Beneful prepared meals. I tried the chicken but its too sloppy and she has a weak tummy, so I’ve stuck with Roasted Turkey Medley and Simmered Beef Entree which happen to be a little heavier. I give her about two spoons for lunch and at night she can have her hard food. We’ve finally got a routine and I haven’t noticed any poopies on the floor (fingers crossed). So far so good!!

And last but least… I finally got some Over the Moon chocolate milk for M (they were out of chocolate Silk which he wasn’t too happy about, but he loved this).

005 - Copy (10)

I was literally OVER THE MOON when I found the Stonyfield Organic Fat Free Milk. I’ve never had organic fat free milk and let me tell  you, there IS a DIFFERENCE. People say “oh there’s no difference, it’s just more expensive”. Let me tell you that’s a lie. Not only does this taste better, it' was the same price as a half gallon of the store brand milks. Now how can you not be happy about that? I got a better deal, and it’s better for you. I usually just drink milk with Puffins, but I’ve been drinking this by the glass!!

Now on to the Couscous. Do you guys have any tips on how to best cook this and what I can add to it? I just have it sitting in my cabinet and I’m scared I’m gonna cook it to mush. I really should be more confident in my cooking but I really don’t cook that much. BUT I SHOULD!

Any tips are appreciated. I need to eat this stuff!!

Love you guys. Ciao- xo!

I know a healthy living can make you feel so great. I love the US grocery list. It looks so much better than my UK list. Avocados are a must though. Love em. I usually just pour boiling water over cous cous and put a plate over and leave for 5 mins or more. No cooking is necessary. Love it.

Where did you find all those cool Clif Bar flavors? I have never seen those!

Couscous is awesome! To make it a little bit more flavorful, try cooking it with chicken stock or veggie stock instead of water. And when it's done (which is about 5 minutes), add a little olive oil and some sauteed veggies with some feta and garlic powder. Hmmmmm....good! So easy!
