Nicole pointed out that I was having issues with my “comments”, so I removed the word verification part. I don’t think I need it anyway. For now :) Thanks Nicole!

Sunday Night Scoop
Labels: cafe, family, food, friends, hair, home, lunch, maia, movies, old times, products, restaurant, savings, shopping, wine
Has anyone ever seen that show “Hoarders” on A&E? It’s really just sad. I think for some people it has to do with being lazy as well. I mean come on. There’s a different between keeping stuff and just not cleaning your damn house. Well I’m watching that right now lol. Multi-tasking you see!
I decided to kind of keep the same style blog but the theme’s just a little lighter and allows for more space for pics and font. Before everything was so squished to be honest I had to use Windows Live Writer then Blogger to space it out. So now it looks like things should work. Fingers crossed!!
I went through over 500+ blog posts last night on Google Reader. Thank GOD for that thing or I think we’d all be a little “cookoo” lol. I’ve had a lot going on this past week so here’s what I’ve been up to…
Last weekend at my parents’ was great. I always feel good reconnecting with them :) I grabbed Maia, books, magazines, my laptop, and my GM and hit the road!
I love Saturday and Sunday morning ESPN-HD with my father. I can always sleep in the spare bedroom but I purposefully sleep on the comfy couch so that when my dad wakes up early and makes coffee, he brings me a cup and I scoot over so that we can watch ESPN. Oh, I love those times!! As you can see, so did Maia. She sat in my mom’s lap while we munched on snacks and watched ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’… that’s a whole other topic!!
Then she decided she’d like to flirt with Boomer! That’s my girl ;) But wait, Boomer’s her cousin haha. So they played tug of war with a sock.
After our night over the parents’ house, I dropped her off then met M and the extended future fam at the movies. We saw Inglorious Basterds. Brad Pitt was hilarious! Classic Tarantino movie. I was starved because I didn’t eat all day, so on the way home I stopped and got Green Curry with chicken, peas, bamboo chutes, egg plant, green pepper, red pepper, and white rice. My absolute favorite. Chili Duck is the best place though, on Boylston in Boston. BUT this had to do for the time being :)
I had a bunch of great food at work this past week. I always bring Clif bars and my own healthy snacks (Oikos of course!), but the cafe really has some great lunches.
Monday I had shrimp stir fry. Instead of the usual white rice I had orzo. So much better!
I played Scrabble (this one is dated 1948, ANCIENT), and didn’t win. My friend Keri won. She had 199 and I had like 58 or something so I was no competition.
I did however, play Monopoly – Here and Now version. It’s the one where you can buy Fenway, the Golden Gate Bridge, all that good stuff. Very modern. I had the Starbucks coffee cup piece, and M had the laptop, I need not say more. Lol. See all the properties I had. I had one of everything so basically I held the ball in the palm of my hands. I ended up making deals so the game was more fun and we actually made progress. No one would budge! But I did :D Wow, I’m such a team player! Haha.
LOADDDDSSSS of cash!!!! I was on a roll. Until It was down to me and Karol and he KILLED me. I landed on Hollywood Blvd owned by him and he had a hotel on it and so I owed him $12million. Then I landed on another one of his with a hotel and I was finished. Whatever. Next time I got him!!
I finally got the chance to meet up with Keri. This was before our Scrabble game. We went to Bamboo and had amazing drinks.
This drink is called Zombie. I wonder if they call it that because after you have two sips you’re drunk?!? lol.
I love the feng-shui in this place. It’s so serene and the staff is so calm and nice. None of that uptight hurry up and get out business. Plus well they know me by now and they know how I roll ;)![]()
We had the Philadelphia Maki (as usual), look at that cream cheese! Wow wow woowee!
We also ordered the Shrimp Tempura Maki, but I think we forgot to say “Maki”, and we got this. But it was soooooooooo good. I’m glad we screwed this one up. See those long shrimp sticks? Those things were about as long as my forearm!! There was a slice of fried squash, fried broccoli, and fried sweet potato. One of each. So we split and were surprisingly surprised. Very good.
Sorry I forget what this one’s called but it was scallops, shrimp, basil, peas, and chicken in a creamy sauce. There were thin noodles underneath. Keri ate too much basil and got a queesy feeling so I went to work but had to slow down myself. Very rich in flavor.
They give free deserts in small portions just to get the buzz going. I told Keri I felt like I was eating blood because the raspberry sauce was very rich, yet fresh. It was on top of a round jelly thing and there was cream sauce and fruit in the middle I think it was a slice of banana in the middle, I don’t remember.
Saturday morning I decided it was finally time to get some hair supplies. This stuff has been RUFF! I don’t know what’s going on. It’s definitely growing but its like not in the best mood. I grabbed all my goods and headed home to read my new mag.
I grabbed an Olive Oil relaxer (it was time lol), a couple Clif bars, Organix White Tea Grapeseed shampoo (I deserve it), a new shower sponge with the thing to stick to the wall on it, and a new Soleil razor. This was $8 for the new razor that included 2 4-blade attachments, then there was an extra 4 on that. Now you guys KNOW how expensive those can be!! I was psyched!
This issue was a trip. I stil haven’t finished but I must say, Brit does look good, Bradley Cooper is quite the catch, Renee and the Gosselins are annoying as you know what. Oh and P.S. I’m sick of the whole image they try to portray Jen as. She’s hot, getting older and embracing her strength as a female actor. What now? What? What?! Lol. I love her!
Today I grabbed some things at the mall. I got a long sweater (Express) from Second Time Around. It was $16. I’m pleased. Victoria’s secret was before that and you know how that is… :) I grabbed some sweats finally. Fall is here and I need to stay warm people! These were $40 a couple weeks ago when I went to get some so I said “no girl don’t do it!” Now they were half off so I got 2 pairs!!
This shirt I got from Anthropologie. Sylwia said in Poland they call it a “bat” shirt, because there’s holes for your arms but it has the bat effect. I agree. and this fabric is the softest and the lightest. Let’s just pray that I can A.) keep it white, B.) not shrink it, and C.) not rip it. I have the worst luck with things that ARE NOT COTTON! Ugh. Before we left I grabbed more Vitamin E serum from the Both Shop (I swear by this stuff), and an intense moisture cream for those dry days that I’ll be going to work make-upless :)
I’m all shopped out. So I’ve had a glass of wine and now M and I are patiently awaiting Mad Men and Entourage. We watch Mad Men then go back to watch Entourage from DVR. Addicts I tell you, addicts!
I’m hoping to have more time to blog this week so that I’m not going on and on like today but I know you guys like it :P I’m glad to know that you guys don’t forget me even when I can’t be here daily. Xo Love you ladies!!!

Too Busy to Blog???
Hello bloggettes! I feel like I’m a bad boyfriend, I come around and it’s really good and then I leave for awhile and its real bad. Haha, excep when I leave it’s not too bad. I just end up super exhausted from working like an ANIMAL and I have boat loads of pics to post and updates but I end up working from home at night too. Not to mention, I have a laptop, but I’m getting one through work too, so soon my very own brand new Dell will begin to get neglected :( I’ve got to start morning blogging again. It’s the only way to get things done around here!! I miss you guys :( I’ve been reading all of your posts and such, so technically I’m not neglecting you all :) Taylor, Helen, Mrs. Myers, the ladies of We Are Not Martha, Jenny from PB&J, Angela from Oh She Glows, Lilveggiepatch, and a few others who I love love love to read up on. I’ll be back soon, I promise… xo

Time Travelin’
Labels: books, family, home, magazine, nature, old times, writing
Since I have so many pics to post, I’ll keep it simple and short. Promise.
Seriously. No comment! Who has this kind of taste when they’re younger? I did not pick Brendan Frazier. Haha. I’ve never EVER EVER thought he was hot. He’s got this pasty pale thing going on. KG- see, from day 1 we were meant to be. Lol. Romeo on the bottom left from Immature (IMX) Oh God!
This is the full pile of notes from my friends and old journals and projects. I would just make collages and stuff then turn it into a school project haha.
This was a folder that I had in 7th & 8th grade (junior high school). I was bored at home one day and got a bunch of stuff from my hip hop magazines and stuff then pasted it on here. “YEAH” for Elmer’s paste sticks! I was telling my mom that it was a hard decision to turn this into a cover for my project, but it worked out well.
I started off with a Table of Contents and made this whole project about my life. The back inside cover (last pic here) was my little brother on the back of a boat wearing a life jacket when he was about 4 or 5. So cute!
My dad worked for a company where they published different creative supplies for school. They needed some models so my sister got to be in it. I was so jealous. She got to skip school that day and EVERYTHING! And no one told me until after! She was about 6 at the time. LUCKY! :( Lol.
This was a journal that I had when I was in like 2nd grade or something. Nice handwriting huh? Haha. Apparently I wrote over the course of a week, “We are moving in a copple days”, then I wrote “we are moving in 10 days” for a week straight. I was like “no 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, huh??” lol.
A baby pic of me. I’ve been told I didn’t cry much and never wet the bed :) This was in the back of my dad’s car. I used to go for a lot of rides.
This was a heart (it’s painted red on the other side) that was given to me by someone named Timothy. He wrote, “Laquisha, I love you. Love, Timothy”. In 6th grade we had a “buddy”. These were kids that were special needs. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with Timothy. From what I could tell he was a bit slow. He was such a cute kid. Very serious. It was hard to make him laugh but when I saw him he’d hug me. I can’t believe I still have this. Timothy if you’re out there, Facebook me! :P
This was an old journal that I ripped up when my first boyfriend and I broke up. Well it was wayy after we broke up. It was when he wouldn’t take me back after I dumped him and he started dating an acquaintance of mine. Funny how people wish they would have worked it out with you and they realize the girl was a hoe from the beginning. Wait did I just say that?! Lol. I have no regrets. What goes around comes around… suckaaaaazzz! :) But all in all I had fun looking through old stuff. If I count I had about 10 journals growing up. That’s not including my college blog. I was a bad ass. I am really picky about what I write and rarely have any regrets about it.
Hey look, everytime I go home this damn plant is longer and longer. One day we need to measure it. It goes around one side of the living room, to the ceiling and wraps around the beams about 6-10 times, then comes down to the ground again (number 3). Scary. I told her she better stop growing this thing before it crawls up the stairs and crawls into her nose :) Haha. I’m so mean.
I’ve had this magazine for about 3 weeks and haven’t read it yet.
Like I said before, it’s so hard to find the time to actually get away from work and blogging (I do love it but I love to read them also, and I know I need to keep reading because its what I love). I don’t mean that I need to get away from blogging, but you know what I mean, sometimes real life calls and we ALL need to stay sane sometimes with what’s going on at home. You feel me? So now I’m off to “reflect”. Love you ladies! Good nighty night! Ciao, xo

Blog News & Foodbuzz Blogger Festival!
Labels: books, event, family, home, old times, relaxation, weather
Storm Stories on the Weather Channel is pretty darn good. It’s crazy to see people in Florida and other southern states try to live a life in such a beautiful state(s) when there’s hurricanes and other storms. Having lived in a number of different states, I’ve really just gotten used to either sun or snow. I was born in Mississippi, my father was stationed in Washington state, so we moved to Redmond (home of Microsoft), then moved to San Francisco (he was stationed on Treasure Island), and lastly Boston. He was out to sea often when he got sent to Boston, so once we finally found a house, it was in New Hampshire, Nashua to be specific. The first time it snowed I was sooooooooooo excited. I hadn’t seen it since Redmond.
With that said, there’s a storm coming to the New England area up the coast. Hurricane Bill. My dad and I were talking about how stubborn people are sometimes. They don’t want to leave their house, etc. He said, “I’d take my valuables and head west.” Sounds like a plan to me. California! :) Have any of you ever been in a situation where you had to vacate due to a storm? I’d like to hear those stories!
I threw Maia in the car, grabbed my premade GM, and we hit the road. I packed my phone, Zune, laptop, magazines, books, pajamas, and insurance forms for work which I’ve been meaning to fill out :) Sometimes you just need to pack it all up and go home. I have the chance to relax and get some things done, including the new blog theme I’ve been wanting for some time. The one that I have now is temporary. I am keeping the same header though. It took WAYY too long to create. It’ll take a lot of time to get it the way that I want it so I’m not applying it until I have all my new blog details worked out. I get bored easily (as you can tell), so I hope I enjoy it once I complete the task.
So I have some news… my mom… Mama Hill, will be doing weekly posts called “Mama in the Kitchen”. I don’t care if she doesn’t like it, because it’s my blog and I get to make up the names around here :D She always has some of the best recipes and makes things up all over the place. I told her even if she wants to make Hamburger Helper, I don’t care. It’ll be good to have change around here and when I don’t have the energy to post, it’s better than leaving the thing blank. Plus she writes books (none are published yet) and since her laptop isn’t doing so well lately she can use the one here in their house and just post weekly. She kills me. Every time I went to ask her she jumped in and ruined my question. She just can’t be quiet. But that’s why I love my mom, right?! Right!
I’ve also asked both of my parents to join me in San Francisco for the Foodbuzz Blogger Festival. Since we used to live there when I was younger and my parents NEVER go anywhere, I figured this is the perfect opportunity for them to get away and plus it’s on a weekend. While I’m at the festival they can reconnect with their SF roots! :)
I’ve got another post coming up. My mom and I went through all of my old stuff from the basement. Ooh boy. I’ve really been quite the writer. Old journals and projects. I’ve been journaling since I was in kindergarten!! Haha.

POM + Sobieski Polish Vodka = Happy Q!
Labels: breakfast, cafe, drinks, lunch, maia, products, savings, shopping, work
This was such a slow day. Work was a mixture of waiting on feedback from co-workers (not my office mate! hehe), and scheduling a gazillion meetings. I feel like I snacked all day and like I keep saying (and fall off with often, but I’m trying harder now days), the more I eat the less bloated I am :) And that means a happy Q! Lol.
I had a 1/2 cup of Oikos vanilla yogurt and on the way to the office I stopped at the cafe and grabbed fruit from the bar. Watermelon, honeydew melon, strawberries, green grapes, and I slathered some sweet PB on top. I think this PB was Jiffy because I got all giddy inside :D But at home I swear I use organic PB ;) would I lie to you???????!!
I ran home at lunch and made a quick salad and apple juice. Apple juice is so refreshing! It was over 90 today so I needed this! In the salad I added green peppers, fresh squash (I’m on a roll with these things!), pepper-jack cheese squares, and red pepper. I drizzled 365 garlic ranch dressing on top. It gave me bad breath but I took a few bites of my Maple Nut CLIF bar (sorry no pic I just wanted to wash the garlic away haha). The apple juice definitely hit the spot though.
So, last time I had these babies I didn’t even take a pic, let along chew… because I inhaled them. I usually grab the veggie shrimp roll. This one came with sweet chili sauce. Mmm mmm mmm. My office mate peered over her laptop screen at me a few times I think. She probably thought I was choking on the thing because I practically was. So good! If you haven’t tried these, grab some! Each one is about half the size of my hand which is pretty big. They have this fresh cilantro-esque type of thing going on too after you bite into it.
After work I grabbed my mags (which I’m getting through little by little especially the Elle September edition with Jennifer Anniston), the laptop, and my POM/Sobieski mixed cocktail :D Sobieski is one of the best vodka’s I’ve ever had. It’s a Polish vodka. You MUST try Sobieski with ANYTHING, but with POM, they definitely work as a team. I used one of my Grand Marinier cocktail glasses that I got at the local liquor store for .99Cents. That’s right!! I sipped, sipped, sipped, and was joined by a panting Maia, so I dipped her in the pool and she’s not scared of it anymore. I put her on the steps and wet her back, tummy, and neck (the hot spots). She came out looking like this:
When someone puts you in luke warm water, you’re supposed to wake up. She however, did not. She wouldn’t keep her eyes open. Again, you’ve never met a dog like her. Wait, now that I look at her face… was she rolling her eyes at me?!!! Case and point or… point and stare :) ^^ lol.

A Bloggy Blog World
Labels: books, breakfast, drinks, family, friends, magazine, reality tv, running, social, work
Did I tell you how much I enjoy working to close to home? :D I love it. I can go swimming in the morning then run up and shower and get dressed. I love it!!!!!!!!!! I’ve got my coffee, and morning mags. It’s crazy because you have blogs and such (thank God for Google Reader!!- I’m still waiting for Google to hire me!!) to catch up on and personal emails and family and friends and Twitter ;) Lol. It’s like a part time job to be a blogger. Then I have to catch up on my DVR. Ugh!
I ordered an audiobook of Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner. I meant to order a really real book. So I’ve put this on Amazon to sell it again. So anyone know someone that might like it, let me know I’ll give you a deal. It’s still in the plastic. I have PayPal :) Lol.
I’m upset about something. You all know I love my reality TV okay. What the real problem is okay is that Miami Social only had like 6 episodes this year. I’m really upset about it. It ended basically with everyone having problems and the whole “what’s the next step” thing.
Breaky is 365 Apple Cinnamon oatmeal with PB and Almond Milk. Now off for a walk. I need to get back in the swing of things. See y’all later!!
